January 2008 Dear Members A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL! Thank you for your support in 2007. I hope you enjoyed our 70th birthday celebrations in November as much as I did. We have another busy year coming up. Already some of you enjoyed a “Murder Mystery” in St Clement’s College Hall this month and I hope you will be able to support and of course join in the activities planned for the coming months. Another milestone in the Playgoers History! Playgoers “60th” Play Festival is on from June 2nd to 7th in the Embassy Theatre Please help us to make this a truly special occasion. ALL the competing teams deserve your FULL SUPPORT. Playgoers Spring production will take place from June 19th to 21st in the Embassy Theatre. Plays for this production are being shortlisted and the read-through for the casting etc will take place on TUESDAY 19th FEBRUARY in the Arts Room at the Embassy Theatre at 7.30pm. Please contact Sue Sharman on 765788 if interested in taking part or helping in any way. The more the merrier! Summer Members evening: Tuesday 22nd July Arts Room, Embassy Theatre, 7.30pm Our CADS are going strong, there will be a production in the late Spring/early Summer. They too need your support. Further details will be given when fully confirmed. Our popular readings will continue in September. These are the place for budding (or experienced!) directors and actors to have a go. If you would like any help in acquiring plays to read please contact Sue or any other members of the Committee. Of course you may be a budding playwright and want a chance to see your work performed. Let us know, we have in the past staged one-act and full length original plays most successfully. Last November “Hyde” was performed at St Clement’s College Hall to great acclaim. It’s all very good fun! See you at the read-through: TUESDAY 19th February, 7.30pm. Sue Sharman (Chairman) |
